PROJECT SCHEDULE
The day-long workshop begins at the beautiful Fruitlawn Garden where table makers will be instructed on how to build their table (no furniture skills required). Participants will break for a tour of the forest where the wood was grown. Replacement trees will be planted in the forest, followed by a picnic lunch. Afterwards, everyone will return to Fruitlawn Garden to enjoy a dinner of locally grown foods, prepared by Sarah Webb of the Gallic Kitchen. Dinner will be upon the fifteen finished tables which will be placed end-to-end in a 100-foot-long Hornbeam Arched Tunnel. All the table makers, their families, the forester, logger, and furniture makers will attend this celebratory dinner. During dinner there will be a talk by Matthew Jebb, the Director of the National Botanic Garden of Ireland, on the origins of the Irish Oak. At the end of the evening participants will return home with their new table to begin a new story as the center of family life, a place where stories are told and history is made.
